Turning India's organic waste into pipeline-quality clean fuel.

Compressed Biogas (CBG) is the backbone of everything XEMX builds. We develop, construct, and operate anaerobic digestion plants that convert agricultural residue, press mud, and organic waste into Renewable Natural Gas — a drop-in replacement for fossil CNG and LNG.

India's Cleanest Path to Energy Security

India imports roughly half of the natural gas it consumes, while millions of tonnes of crop residue and organic waste decompose in open fields — releasing methane, a greenhouse gas around 84 times more potent than CO₂ over twenty years. Renewable Natural Gas solves both problems at once: it captures that methane and puts it to work in the existing gas grid, vehicles, and industry.

Policy momentum is unprecedented. The SATAT initiative targets a nationwide network of 5,000 CBG plants, and the CBG Blending Obligation (CBO) mandates blending of compressed biogas into CNG and PNG supply — starting at 1% and rising to 5% by FY 2028-29. Assured offtake agreements with oil marketing companies give CBG one of the strongest demand frameworks in Indian clean energy.

From Field Residue to Grid-Ready Gas

Every XEMX plant runs a proven, industrial-grade process — engineered for high uptime, consistent gas quality, and complete valorisation of every input stream.

Feedstock Aggregation

Agricultural residue, press mud, cattle dung, and organic waste are collected through structured farmer and industry partnerships — securing year-round supply within a tight radius of each plant.

Anaerobic Digestion

Feedstock is digested in sealed, temperature-controlled reactors where microbes break down organic matter into raw biogas — roughly 55–60% methane — under continuous process monitoring.

Upgrading & Compression

Raw biogas is purified to 90%+ methane, compressed to 250 bar, and dispatched as CBG — to oil marketing company outlets, city gas networks, and industrial offtakers under long-term agreements.

Assured Demand, Anchored by Policy

CBG enjoys one of the strongest demand frameworks in Indian clean energy — combining guaranteed offtake with a rising blending mandate.

  • Long-term offtake agreements with oil marketing companies under SATAT
  • CBG Blending Obligation rising from 1% to 5% of CNG/PNG supply by FY 2028-29
  • Direct supply to city gas distribution networks and industrial customers
  • Priority sector status, capital subsidies, and pipeline injection support

The Hub of Our Circular Model

Every XEMX CBG plant is the anchor of an integrated biorefinery — its co-products feed our fertiliser, biochar, and green chemicals platforms.

  • Digestate is upgraded into FCO-compliant FOM, LFOM, and PROM fertilisers
  • Surplus residue streams feed pyrolysis for biochar and durable carbon removal
  • Feedstock aggregation networks de-risk our SAF and green chemicals platforms
  • Every plant creates rural jobs and a direct income stream for farmers
